CannaTrak Help

How to set up CannaTrak, log your entries, create reports for your prescriber and keep your data safe.

Getting started

  1. Install CannaTrak free from Google Play and open it.
  2. Choose your conditions. Pick everything that applies, for example chronic pain, sleep, migraines, diabetes, anxiety / depression / PTSD, epilepsy, IBS / Crohn's, fibromyalgia or AuDHD.
  3. Choose how you take your product. Flower, oil, capsules, vape, edibles and topical are all supported.
  4. Check your trackers. CannaTrak switches on the trackers that match your conditions. You can turn others on or off before you finish.

Cannabis, Dose and Journal are always available. No account or sign-up is needed.

You can change your conditions and trackers at any time from Settings, so don't worry about getting the setup perfect first time.

Logging an entry

There are two quick ways to add an entry:

Cannabis and Dose

Log the strain or product, form, THC/CBD, amount and how it felt. Use the Dose tracker for the amount, method and time of each dose. Over time this shows your own patterns, for example which times of day you log most.

Condition trackers

Each condition tracker asks for what matters for that condition. Examples: pain level and location, sleep quality and hours, migraine severity and aura, glucose readings, seizure type and duration, or focus and sensory load. Most trackers also let you note whether you used cannabis and which strain, so the app can compare days with and without.

Editing or deleting

Made a mistake? Open the entry in the tracker's log to correct or remove it.

Log as soon as you can after a dose or episode. Details are easier to remember and your reports will be more useful.

Choosing your trackers

Go to Settings to change your conditions, your product types and which trackers are switched on. Turning a tracker off hides it. It does not delete your past entries.

CannaTrak includes trackers for sleep, pain, migraine, diabetes, mental health, seizures, IBS / Crohn's, fibromyalgia and AuDHD. If you have MS or are going through cancer treatment, the Pain tracker is switched on for you alongside Cannabis and Dose logging.

Dashboard and insights

The Dashboard shows your recent activity, your logging streak, 30-day charts and a tile for each tracker you have switched on. Insights compare your own logged days, for example sleep on nights with and without cannabis.

Insights describe patterns in what you have logged. They are not medical advice and do not show cause and effect. Talk to your prescriber before making any changes to your treatment.

Journal

Use the Journal for anything the trackers don't cover: how your day went, new symptoms, changes to your routine. Journal notes can be included in your reports so your prescriber sees the full picture.

Reports for your prescriber

With CannaTrak Pro you can create a summary of your last 30 days to take to an appointment.

  1. Keep logging for at least a couple of weeks so there is enough data to summarise.
  2. Open Data Tools and choose to create a clinic report.
  3. To add an AI summary, generate an AI report. This uses Claude AI from Anthropic to write a short clinical-style section for your prescriber and a plain-English section for you.
  4. Save or share the report, or print it, and bring it to your appointment.

You can generate one AI report per week. The AI describes patterns in your own logs and does not give medical advice.

On Android, reports are saved or shared as a file you can open, print or email, because phones can't print directly from inside the app.

Backups, import and export

CannaTrak stores your logs on your own device. That keeps them private, but it also means uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes your entries. Back up regularly.

Back up

  1. Open Data Tools.
  2. Export your data as JSON (a full backup) or CSV (for spreadsheets). Export is a Pro feature.
  3. Save the file somewhere safe, such as cloud storage or email it to yourself.

Restore or import

In Data Tools, use import to bring in a JSON backup or a CSV spreadsheet. CSV import is free. You can also import a prescription or clinic letter as a PDF and the app will try to pre-fill your strain, dose and product details. Always check the details it fills in.

Moving between phones

Export a JSON backup on the old phone, move the file across, then import it on the new one.

Patient Hub and Titration Lab

Patient Hub collects learning and planning tools: a dosing planner, a terpene library, an educational hub, a symptom mapper and a doctor-prep letter to help you get ready for appointments. Titration Lab helps you plan and track gradual dose changes that you have agreed with your prescriber.

These tools are for organising your own notes and questions. They are not medical advice. Follow your prescriber's instructions for your dose and treatment.

Reminders and app lock

If reminders don't appear, check that notifications are allowed for CannaTrak in your phone's settings and that battery saving isn't stopping the app.

Pro and subscriptions

CannaTrak is free to use for all trackers. Pro adds AI summary reports, clinic report PDFs, full analytics and CSV/JSON export. Pro costs £2.99 a month or £14.99 a year.

Subscribe

Choose Pro when prompted in the app and complete the purchase through Google Play.

Cancel

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Choose CannaTrak and tap Cancel subscription.

You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.

Pro isn't showing

Make sure you are signed in to the same Google account you bought with, then close and reopen the app. If it still doesn't show, contact us with your Google Play order number.

Using the web app (iPhone and desktop)

If you don't use Android, you can use the CannaTrak web app in your browser.

The web app and the Android app keep their data separately and do not sync. To move your logs between them, export a JSON backup from one and import it into the other.

Troubleshooting

My entries have disappeared

Logs live on your device. They are removed if the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared, or if you are using the web app and clear your browser data. If you have a JSON backup, import it from Data Tools.

The app won't open or crashes

Update CannaTrak in the Google Play Store, restart your phone and try again. If it keeps happening, email us with your phone model and Android version.

A tracker is missing

It may be switched off. Go to Settings and turn it on.

My export or report won't open

Look for the share or save prompt after you tap export. Choose where to save it, then open it from your Files app or downloads.
